Those
fashion designers are just crazy; but aren’t we all? Today, I’m very
happy about myself, because I realized my dreams. I learned how to
understand what people want. I think in the darkest moments, we need a
break. I am no longer concerned with sensation and innovation, but with
the perfection of my style.

I love you if you love me. Fashions fade, style is eternal. Men don’t
want another man to look at their woman because they don’t know how to
handle it. If you cut a painter’s hands off, he’d still feel the urge to
pick up a brush. I do not have one theme for each season, I just try to
make beautiful clothes all year round.

Insecurity is a waste of time. Awkwardness gives me great comfort.

I’ve never been cool, but I’ve felt cool. I’ve been in the cool place, but I wasn’t really cool – I was trying to pass for hip or cool. It’s the awkwardness that’s nice. People said making clothes inside out was not proper. I disagreed, because clothes that are inside out are as beautiful as a cathedral. I am not interested in shock tactics. I just want to make beautiful clothes. People said making clothes inside out was not proper. I disagreed, because clothes that are inside out are as beautiful as a cathedral.

I like things simple. Age and size are only numbers. It’s the attitude you bring to clothes that make the difference. Men have got more of a discerning eye. They appreciate cut and details, things that aren’t so obvious. They like things that have cachet and gentle manliness. First I made a dress because I was pregnant and I wanted to be the most beautiful pregnant woman. Then I made a sweater because I wanted to have one that wasn’t like anyone else’s. People just
don’t do it anymore. We have to change that. Online media is
increasingly influential in fashion.

I try to contrast; life today is full of contrast… We have to
change. It’s useless to send models out on the runway to cry. Fashion to
me has become very disposable; I wanted to get back to craft, to
clothes that could last. People said making clothes inside out was not
proper. I disagreed, because clothes that are inside out are as
beautiful as a cathedral. You can hide so much behind theatrics, and I
don’t need to do that any more.

What you wear is how you present yourself to the world, especially
today when human contacts go so fast. Fashion is instant language. Women
are more sure of themselves today. They don’t have to emulate the way
men dress. There has to be a balance between your mental satisfaction
and the financial needs of your company. I love the 2000s because
everyone started to love haute couture. Confidence. If you have it, you
can make anything look good.

I think it’s an old fashioned notion that fashion needs to be exclusive to be fashionable.
