Clothes mean nothing until someone \nlives in them. There has to be a balance between your mental \nsatisfaction and the financial needs of your company. I always say: To \nbe well dressed you must be well naked. Clothes mean nothing until \nsomeone lives in them. I never like to think that I design for a \nparticular person. I design for the woman I wanted to be, the woman I \nused to be, and – to some degree – the woman I’m still a little piece \nof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I love things that age well – things that don’t date, that stand the test of time and that become living examples of the absolute best. Confidence. If you have it, you can make anything look good. I don’t like trends. They tend to make everybody look the same. You have to be luxurious nude. It’s difficult to move in the nude in front of a mirror. It’s much easier to move when you’re dressed. But if you can walk around in the nude easily in front of your man, if you can be luxurious in the nude, then you’ve really got it. The important thing is to take your time and not get stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attention to detail is of utmost importance when you want to look good.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

My learning process is by eye alone; it’s not at all scientific. My \naim is to make the poor look rich and the rich look poor. I wish I had \ninvented blue jeans. They have expression, modesty, sex appeal, \nsimplicity – all I hope for in my clothes. I have my permanent muses and\n my muses of the moment. Success isn’t about the end result, it’s about \nwhat you learn along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Insecurity is a waste of time. Fashion fosters cliches of beauty, but\n I want to tear them apart. I have an obsession with details and \npattern. The important thing is to take your time and not get stressed. I\n love a black wedding dress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Go to a place where you’re not going to be stressed, because a \nhoneymoon itself can be a stressful thing. I have my favourite fashion \ndecade, yes, yes, yes: ’60s. It was a sort of little revolution; the \nclothes were amazing but not too exaggerated. I never like to think that\n I design for a particular person. I design for the woman I wanted to \nbe, the woman I used to be, and – to some degree – the woman I’m still a\n little piece of. In a meat-eating world, wearing leather for shoes and \nclothes and even handbags, the discussion of fur is childish. My job is \nto bring out in people what they wouldn’t dare do themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
